About Us
Welcome to the Aunty Ana’s House Ohana
Meet Ana
Born in the Philippines, Ana moved to Hawaii at age three and was raised in Kalihi where she graduated from Farrington High School. She met her wonderful husband Kearn while attending Heald College and no more than a month after graduation in May of 1997, they moved to Arizona, where their oldest two children Kekoa and Kaleolani were born. In 2003, they moved to Hillsboro, Oregon, where their youngest daughter, Kiana, was born. In 2010, they decided to move home to be closer to family and a year later Ana went back to work after being a stay-at-home mom for over 10 years.
.
Ana's first job back was at Stepping Stones Academy in Aiea, where she learned so much about policies and procedures, but most of all, she learned about herself and how she wanted to treat and care for children that were not her own... with the love of a parent. Coincidentally, the family started attending a new church and Ana immediately started serving in the nursery where she fell in love with the babies. Ana later began to serve at every age level in the children’s ministry where she further gained knowledge of procedures, but also how to redirect children in a loving and compassionate way. In 2013, Ana was asked by a friend at church to apply for a Teaching Assistant position with Ka Pa’alana, a non-profit program branch of Partners in Development that focused on providing local families with affordable, yet quality child development environments. It was not your typical preschool, as it focused on the school partnering with the parent/guardian by requiring at least one parent or guardian to stay and learn skills on how to parent.
She was so sad to leave in 2019, but this is where her passion for children began to grow into the idea of becoming a state-licensed family child care provider where she could provide the same love and support to our local families that she did professionally and with her own three children for so many years.
Health & Safety
Ana and Kearn feel so strongly about caring for children competently and at the highest safety levels, that although Ana is the only one required by the State of Hawaii to complete Infant/Child First Aid and CPR, they decided to have their entire family certified in Adult & Infant/Child First Aid/CPR & AED.

Aunty Ana's goal as your Family Child Care provider is to offer a Quality, Safe, Clean, and Nurturing environment, where your child will feel loved and encouraged when away from home. We know this is a huge step for you to trust someone with your child's care and have your choice of providers. We do not take that lightly and will do everything in our power to partner with you to provide the best possible care for your child.
Communication
Aunty Ana’s House uses software to communicate with parent(s) or guardian(s) about what happened in during the day using notes, logs, and pictures. In the case where this app is not accessible to the parent or in the case of an emergency, we will contact the parent at the phone number(s) on file.
We will also have general important information posted on the Parent Information Board. Any incidents will be recorded, addressed immediately and reported to the parent(s) or guardian(s) according to the contact information on file. A meeting with the parents will be called to resolve the issue if needed.
